I'm Karen; I'm a mixed media and textile artist from the UK, and I've been drawing, painting and stitching for as long as I can remember.
One of the ways I generate new ideas for stitching is to make small samples that I attach to the pages of my sketchbooks.
The samples are quick, easy, and fun to make, and they often lead to larger pieces of work.
The best thing about this technique is that there is zero waste: you can use every last scrap of fabric, ribbon, lace, and thread in these small samples.
